WDP Rules and Regulations
A) NATIONAL ANTHEM & PLEDGE
Students who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart.
B) ATTIRE & APPEARANCE

Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.

Shirt (PE shirt inclusive) must be tucked in neatly at all times.

Students must wear their name tags on their school uniform and PE attire. (For durability, sew the border of the name tag after ironing it.)

Students should button up their uniform (PE attire inclusive) except for the first button at the top.

The Male Student’s Uniform
The shorts should not be too tight. -
The Female Student’s Uniform
The skirt should be at knee length and not be too tight. -
All students are to wear white shoes without any coloured markings, stripes or logos.

All students are to wear standard white school socks as part of their school uniform. Socks have to be visible above the ankles.

Physical Education (PE) Attire
All students must be in their PE attire (School T-shirt and maroon PE shorts) during PE lessons.
Name Tag should be worn above the school crest.Primary 1-2:
Students can remain in their PE attire throughout the day.
Primary 3-6:
Female students are to put on their school skirts before and after PE lessons. Male students can remain in their PE attire throughout the day.
All pupils are to wear white shoes without any colored markings, stripes or logos. -
Male students must neat in appearance, clean shaven and no facial is allowed.

Male students should have short and neatly combed hair. It should not touch the ears, collars, or eyebrows. Spiky/ pointed hair is not allowed.

Female students with shoulder length hair or longer should tie their hair. The hair / fringe should not touch the eyebrows. Female students should only use black / maroon / white hair bands, hair clips or scrunchies. No fanciful hair accessories allowed.

The school reserves the right to determine whether the student’s hairstyle is acceptable.

Students should retain the natural colour of their hair. They are not allowed to colour their hair.

Students are not allowed to wear jewellery to school. Female students are only allowed to wear a pair of small stud earrings, one on each ear. The colour of the stud earrings should be confined to gold, silver or black. Make-up is not allowed.

Students are not allowed to wear coloured contact lenses.

Fingernails should be kept short and clean. Nail polish is strictly not allowed.
C) PUNCTUALITY

All students are expected to be punctual for school.

All students are required to be at the assembly areas by 7.25 a.m. so that the morning assembly can start promptly at 7.30 a.m.
-
Students who are not at the assembly areas by the time morning assembly commences will be considered late.
-
When the chime is sounded five minutes before recess ends, students are to start assembling at the basketball court.
D) SAFETY MATTERS

All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like items which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.

All students must seek permission from the teacher before leaving the classroom during lessons.
-
Students should not leave the school compound during curriculum or recess time without the permission of the Principal / Vice Principal / Form Teacher / Subject Teacher.
-
Students who are in school after curriculum time for remedial lessons, CCA etc are not allowed to leave the school compound unless they have a written note from their parents and permission is given by the school.

There are designated play areas for students to play safely during recess. They are the school field, the fitness playground and the WISH 1 (basketball court). Students are to be considerate and not to play in the canteen, along the corridors, stair wells or in the classroom as others may be having their lessons.
E) RECESS AND SCHOOL CLEANLINESS

Students are to queue up to buy food.

After eating, all plates and utensils are to be returned to the designated returning points. Food remnants left on the table are to be cleared too.

All food and drinks are to be consumed only in the canteen premises.

Students are to keep the school clean at all times. Littering is not allowed anywhere in the school.
-
Litter seen anywhere should be picked up and thrown into a dustbin.
F) SERIOUS OFFENCES
-
Students should not vandalise or deface school property e.g. school building, furniture, fire alarm panels, etc.
-
Students should not use abusive / vulgar language.
-
Students should not be involved in stealing, fighting, extortion, vaping or smoking.
-
Students should not be defiant / rude to the staff of the school.
-
Bullying in any form is not allowed..
G) PERSONAL DIGITAL DEVICES (MOBILE DEVICES & SMART WATCHES*)
-
Students are strongly discouraged from bringing personal digital devices, including mobile phones and smart watches*, to school. Should they need to bring one, its main purpose should be to contact their parents/caregivers on urgent matters. Alternatively, they can use the public phones, as well as the phone in the General Office for such matters.

Students who bring such devices must turn them off and put them in their school bags before school start time. This includes turning off all calling, messaging and recording functions in smart watches. Students will bear responsibility for safekeeping devices, and the school will not be responsible for the loss of any of these items.

Students who bring these devices are not to use them during school hours including recess, lunch time, CCA and after-school programmes (e.g supplementary/ enrichment/ remedial lessons). They are only allowed to use them, restricted to only communication with their parents/caregivers, at designated areas after school hours, i.e. Gate A1, Gate D and the school’s foyer.

If any student is caught using any personal digital devices beyond the permissible locations or during school hours, the device will be confiscated, and parents will be asked to come to school to collect it. Disciplinary actions will also be taken against the student for irresponsible and inappropriate use of devices.

H) OTHER RULES
-
Students are not allowed to bring things that will cause distraction to the students’ attention in class e.g. trading cards, handheld games and other forms of electronic toys and devices, etc.

If found, these items will be confiscated and parents will be informed to come and collect them within a month. If not collected within a month, these items will be disposed as the school sees fit.

Absence from school must be explained either by producing a medical certificate or a letter from the parent or guardian.
-
Please note that students are not allowed to go on overseas leave on school days.

When students assemble in the canteen / at the parade square / in the hall, they should do so quietly and quickly. Students should move to and from their classrooms quietly.

Students are only allowed to play in the basketball court (ISH), fitness playground and field during recess. Playing is not allowed in other areas, for example, in the school hall, along the corridors, staircases, foyer, parade square, garden area in between C block and D block, carpark etc.
POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE TO SCHOOL RULES

Verbal warning by school staff followed by referral to School Counsellor for follow-up action.
-
Referral to the Principal’s / Vice-Principal’s / HOD Student Management’s / Year Head’s and Assistant Year Head’s attention for further action.
-
Parents to be informed by Form Teacher of non-compliance of school rules and its implications.
-
Students to be detained during recess, and are to bring their own food from home and consume it during their detention.
-
Suspension from school.
